Bárbara Wahnon, born in Lisbon, defines herself as someone “who continues to explore her artistic persona”, having found part of her on her first trip to Ilha da Boavista, Cape Verde, in March 2020, where “7 Days, 7 Mornas”, a solidarity project was born.
Her voice is characterized by a deep and melodious tone and she performs in trio, with Diogo Caetano on guitar, involving voice and loop station and Iúri Oliveira on percussion. Both together recall the cultural richness of the Portuguese-speaking world, interpreting and exploring various mornas among other African sounds.
