DJ Tiago Tocha is a musician and percussionist, born in Lisbon, Portugal. He lived in Brazil for about 20 years, and brings in his baggage a great cultural diversity. He took part in several percussion projects, as a teacher, and held workshops in Europe and Latin and Central America. While living in Brazil, he was part of some bands (Coró de Pau, Cega Machado, Calango Nego and Caboclo Roxo), as a member and percussionist, in which he had the opportunity to share the same stages with important names in Brazilian music, including: Nação Zumbi, Cordel do Fogo Encantado, Siba, Roberto Correa, Hermeto Pascoal, Mutantes, Arnaldo Antunes, Pedra Branca, Flora Matos and Criolo. His work as a dj is a fusion of the most varied styles, such as soul, 70′ funk, groove, hip hop, blues, rock, brazilian beats, samba, samba-rock, jazz, salsa, electronics, live act percussion and afrobeat.
